Open Door welcomes Julee Snyder!


She will begin teaching a lovely Gentle Yoga class every Wednesday at 10:00am beginning May 21st.

Julee is a licensed bodywork therapist integrating massage, yoga, and movement therapy. She provides individually catered support to people with specialized needs ranging from stress and pain management, pregnancy support, chronic conditions, grief and emotional support, movement inquiries and challenges, breath work, meditation, sensory integration, personal transformation, and more.

Julee enjoys creating healing partnerships and brings to her work a spacious presence, an embodied exploration of anatomy, a clear articulation of alignment and movement principles, a playful curiosity, and a powerful yet sensitive touch. She draws from 15 years of dance experience, 12 years of yoga practice, and more that 2,000 hours of therapeutic study.

Julee received her BA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and studied dance at the Amsterdam School of the Arts. She is a Certified Practitioner of Body-Mind Centering® and received her massage training at the Body Therapy Institute. She is a certified yoga teacher at the 500-hour Professionals Level through Lisa Clark's Yoga ~ Body, Mind and Spirit program in Chapel Hill and she currently co-teaches with Lisa at both the 200 and 500-hour levels. She is a Yoga Alliance registered teacher and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Her continuing education includes coursework in Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Anatomy Trains, Hot Stones, Pregnancy massage, Yoga for Pregnancy, and Restorative yoga. Additionally, she is a graduate of BTI's massage educator training program, The Spirit of Learning. Julee has a small bodywork practice at The Center – Natural Health Specialists in N. Raleigh. She also works as a massage and yoga therapist at Duke Integrative Medicine and is on faculty for the School for Body-Mind Centering in Durham.
