For this series, Erin will introduce the form and sequence of powerful Tai Chi Chu’an form that was created by Tai Chi Chu’an Master Vincent Chu working closely with Qi Gong Master Ou, Wen Wei. Tai Chi Chu’an was originally a martial application of Qi Gong (energy cultivation). Erin has been studying Tai Chi with Master Vincent Chu and his advanced students and instructors since 2013. She will be introducing the Level I of Pangu Tai Chi (Returning Tai Chi Chu’an Form).
We aren’t doing anything difficult or using martial applications in this class. Tai Chi Chu’an strengthens and protects the joints – working gently with the ligaments, tendons, and muscles. The added benefit of this form is the support for your organs as well. We will take it easy in this class; it will not be intense or require a lot of endurance. However, it is best to already have a regular movement routine (like walking, yoga, gardening) since we will be on our feet for 55-60 minutes. Of course, you may sit as needed.
