Most of us experience regular neck and shoulder pain resulting from the ways we use our bodies and the postures we put ourselves in. Rounded shoulder patterns are all too common, as we spend most of our day seated at a desk or in a car. When we do this day-after-day with little work to counterbalance, it results in dysfunction of the muscles of the chest, shoulders and upper back, resulting in aches and pains from muscles that are unable to support you properly.
In this workshop, we will work to unravel common areas of tension in the chest, neck and shoulders, and to strengthen weak and underused muscles that contribute to regular discomfort. Students can expect to leave the workshop with:
- A greater understanding of anatomy as it relates to neck and shoulder pain.
- Relief from areas of chronic tension and knowledge of self-care techniques.
- Corrective exercises to target weak muscles and decrease discomfort overall.
*Note: No Yoga experience necessary – all levels welcome. All props will be provided. Tight clothing is recommended for use with therapy balls.
